Jhingiani banks on ‘With Love Tumhara’
From Noreen Aslam

BOMBAY—After a long hiatus, Pretty Preeti Jhingiani is keenly awaiting to come back in Bollywood with her series ‘With Love Tumhara’, ‘Sajna Ve Sajna’ and ‘Godfather’. Though she began her career with Aditya Chopra and then worked with several eminent filmmakers like O.P.Dutta and Madhur Bhandarkar, she faced several flops like ‘Chaahat’. Preeti blames two important factors for it: lack of efficient marketing and also short of proper publicity rather than her performance. “ I shall better perform in stage shows than acting in such movies”, she adds.
In the case of ‘With Love Tumhara’ , Preeti is very confident of the movie proving a hit that she needs urgently at this juncture. “I am anxiously awaiting it to hit the screens”.
Excerpts of her brief interview:
What’s ‘With Love Tumhara’ all about?
This is a movie based on everyday life: a soldier going to the battlefield and never returning home. However, his friend in Praveen Dabas comes back.
What’s your role in it?
I play the character of Anuradha, a girl studying in an ordinary school of Manali in Himachal Pradesh, whose marriage is fixed with this soldier named Nakul.
Are you happy with this role?
Yes, I am very excited with my role that has several aspects.
How do you distinguish this from your other movies?
I have been quite cautious during acting in it unlike in others where I have overacted. In fact, I have changed my acting style in this movie.
What are your other movies?
‘Sajna Ve Sajna’ is the other one that has a mixture of Punjabi and English. This has been mostly shot in Scotland. Significantly, there is a British actress in it too. Then, I have also acted in ‘Godfather’. This is a big budget movie and has been shot in Dubai and Bulgaria. Incidentally, my hero is a well-known Pakistani model. Among other stars in it are Nafisa Ali, Vinod Khanna and Hrishita Bhatt.
