13 outlaws apprehended

LAHORE—Investigation Police Sadar Division on Tuesday claimed to have arrested 13 members of two criminal gangs involved in a number of murder, dacoity, car and motorcycle snatching incidents. During the interrogation, the gangsters have confessed that they had committed car, motorcycle, mobile phone and 30 cash snatching incidents. Most of the gangsters are proclaimed offenders, DIG Investigation Lahore Muhammad Azam Joya disclosed this while addressing a press conference at his office this afternoon. He said that two special teams which were constituted to check the incidents of murder, dacoity and other heinous crimes in Sadar Division, have smashed these gangsters. He said that the accused had confessed that they killed Effat Batool wife of Nayyer Raza Bokhari and his son through hanging them with cable wire in Sattu Katla area during dacoity. The gangsters had also confessed to killed four persons during dacoity in Chuhng area and injured a head constable Nasir Ali in an encounter during a raid at the same area.—Online
