Afgan opposes Shujaat’s contact with Ulema
ISLAMABAD—Federal Minister for parliamentary affairs, Dr. Sher Afgan
Khan Niazi, has termed PML president Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain talks with
the ulema on Women Protection Bill (WPBP) as illogical saying that the
PML political is beyond comprehension.
He said that there was no reason for talks with the ulema over WPB when
the Bill had become Act. He expressed these remarks while talking to a
private TV channel and reporters on Monday. He said that the MQM protest
against Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain with the Ulema was justified and he
backed it. He said that the PML president should have not held dialogue
with the ulema on WPB when the Bill had already enforced.
Responding to a question, Sher Afgan said that the PML (N) and PPP-P
lack candidates on 50 percent constituencies to participate in the
upcoming election and that is why both the parties have started hue and
cry before polls. He said that PML (N) was a rogue party and the party
leader Nawaz Sharif had indicted criminals in his league.
To another question, he said, that Imran Khan was an accidental
politician. He said that Imran Khan could not protect his spouse and
children, how could he safeguard the 140 million population of Pakistan.
He said that district nazim Mianwali, Malik Amantullah, would contest
next elections against Imran Khan.
Sher Afgan said that bills on women sale and purchase, adultery, forced
marriages, divorce, Vani, marriage with Quran and depriving women of
legacy would be presented in the next session of the National Assembly.
Minister for Information and Broadcasting Senator Muhammad Ali Durrani
Monday said that Mutahidda Qoumi Movement (MQM) has been performing its
role in the coalition government during the past four years and it would
continue to do so.
In a telephonic interview to a private television channel the Minister
said that the ruling party is in constant contact with the leadership of
MQM and misunderstandings, if any, would be removed amicably.
He said there exists big potential for even better functioning of the
coalition in the future in the interest of the country and its masses
and the partners would of course assist each other to materialize this
potential.
Minor differences is a routine matter between the partners in a
political set up he said. Minor differences is a routine matter between
