2007 declared Muslim League Year: Mushahid

ISLAMABAD—Ruling PML-Q secretary general Mushahid Hussain Syed has said government has declared December 2006-December 2007 Muslim League year and detailed directives have been issued to all the departments in this respect.
He said this while presiding over PML centenary celebrations committee meeting here Sunday. He told that President General Pervez Musharraf has set up a committee at national level in connection with PML centenary celebrations and the Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz will be the chairman of the committee.
Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz has issued special instructions to all the departments, provincial governments , universities, colleges and schools to work out comprehensive program regarding PML centenary celebrations.
All the educational institutions have been asked to hold conferences, debates and meetings to highlight the services rendered by Muslim League in the freedom movement of Pakistan. Special programs will be chalked out by television and radio with reference to All India Muslim League. Editorials be published by all the newspapers. Higher Education Commission should evolve research program in all educational institutions on freedom movement of Pakistan.
Conferences be held in Rawalpindi and Islamabad to highlight the services of Muslim League. The postal department has been directed to issue memorial postage on the occasion. Ministry of information and broadcasting has been asked to arrange for printing of special posters and brochures. International conferences be held during the period from 2006 to 2007 to review the services of All India Muslim League.
Under the directives of education ministry, professor Dr Riaz Ahmad, director of institution of research, history, culture of Quaid-e-Azam university is holding an international conference on All India Muslim League from December 18 to 20, 2006. Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz will be chief guest in the inaugural session of the conference on 18. He will host banquet in the honor of participants of the conference. president Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain will preside over conference session on December, 19 and he will also host banquet for the participants at his residence. President General Pervez Musharraf will address the concluding session of conference.
