CDiaz, Winslet shine at The Holiday
premiere
New York—With the
Rockefeller Centre Christmas tree lighting underway just a few blocks
away, the New York premiere of “The Holiday” at the Ziegfeld Theatre on
Wednesday night, November 29, ushered in another holiday tradition -
warm romantic comedies.
Cameron Diaz, Kate Winslet and Jude Law, three of the stars in the film,
dazzled the red carpet with fashionably festive attire. Diaz sported one
of the season’s major trends, metallics, with a very short and sassy
dress featuring a low-cut back and waist-cinching cumberbund tied into a
bow.
Kate Winslet looked sleek in a form-fitting satin suit that showed off
her curves, and carried Hollywood’s clutch bag du jour by French label
Roger Vivier. And in a sign that the skinny tie may be making a
comeback, the always dapper Jude Law wore one with a white shirt that
featured a contrasting black collar. Kate Winslet looked sleek in a

Written and directed by Nancy Meyers (“Something’s Gotta Give,” “What
Women Want”), “The Holiday” follows two women, Amanda Woods (Cameron
Diaz) and Iris Simpkins (Kate Winslet), who decide to swap homes for the
holiday after meeting online and realizing that they share a similar
problem - the man that each loves is in love with another woman.
Amanda goes to Iris’ snowy English country home, while Iris goes to
sunny L.A., and both find new romance - Amanda meets Iris’ brother
Graham (Jude Law) and Iris meets film composer Miles (Jack
Black).—Agencies |
