Police stitch lips of inmate

LAHORE—The Kot Lakhpat authority setting new example of cruelty and barbarism here and sewed the lips of an inmate for non-payment of the ‘monthly’ on Saturday. Daringly the accused was brought in the same condition to the court.
The court issued orders to probe into this inhuman act. Abdur Razzaq—-a resident of Vehari—- is locked up here under a case of murder attempt for over than last three years. According to the accused Abdur Razzaq, he used to give ‘monthly’ to jail administration, but this month, he could not do so owing to his sister’s wedding.
Abdur Razzaq said that ten days ago, Abid, Jail Assistant Arshad and another police official Siddique Jutt tortured him and afterwards, locked him up in a cell. Abdur Razzaq told that he has not been given anything to eat for last ten days.—INP
