Kasuri invites Oman to invest in Gwadar

ISLAMABAD—Foreign Minister Khurshid Mehmood Kasuri has invited the Omani government to encourage its public and private sector to invest in the development of Gwadar where Oman has edge because of its historical links with Gwadar.
The foreign minister arrived in Muscat on official visit Saturday, and Oman foreign minister Yousaf Alawi bin Abdullah received him at the airport.
Both the ministers exchanged views on regional and bilateral issues and agreed to further enhance cooperation between the two countries. They reviewed the level and scope of existing cooperation in political, economic, defence and manpower fields while Khurshid Mehmood Kasuri offered Pakistan’s assistance in developing vocational centers of training of manpower in various fields in Oman.
The two ministers held in depth discussions on the regional and international developments including the Middle East peace process, Palestinian issue, security situation in Iraq and political crisis in Lebanon. They also focused on the Iranian role in evolving security situation in the Middle East and Iran nuclear issue.—Agencies
