IT turns world into a Global Village: Atta

ISLAMABAD—Chairman Higher Education Prof. Dr. Atta ur Rahman said Saturday the world had been turned into a Global Village owing to the development of information technology.
Dr. Atta was addressing the concluding ceremony of two-week IT programme entitled `Multi-media and Resource Training Development Programme’ held for participants from ASEAN Countries at National Institute of Science and Technical Education here.
As many as 17 participants took part in the course out of which 6 belonged to Pakistan while the rest were from Brunai Darussalam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippine, Thailand and Vietnam.
The programme aimed at strengthening ties among ASEAN Countries, especially in IT sector as well as exchanging and familiarising the participants with new trends and approaches appearing in this particular sector.
The HEC chairman congratulated the participants for accomplishing the course and hoped they would make best use of the techniques in their respective countries.
