Blast ruptures gas pipeline

QUETTA—Gas supply to the Sui purification plant has been suspended as a precautionary measure, following a main pipeline rupture in an explosion that occurred in the Dera Bugti area here, said police.
“Some unknown miscreants had planted explosive materials by the side of the 16- inch diameter main running from gas well to the plant, which exploded late at night rupturing the pipeline, however, the damage could not be immediately assessed due to darkness” said the police. Following this incident, Sui gas management suspended gas supply to the plant, while the heavy contingents of security forces have cordoned off the area and necessary investigations were in process.—Online
