MMA call gathers no response: Elahi

ISLAMABAD—Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhary Pervaiz Elahi has said that section 144 is enforced in the entire province of Punjab and under the section no one can carry out any procession or rally.
Talking to newsmen he said, public meeting can be held but, for this advance permission is must. MMA has been holding public meetings in the past. Security and other arrangements like smooth flow of traffic etc. were made by the government. Chief Minister said, rallies were not allowed as these disturb normal life and people face huge inconvenience from rallies, he added. To a question he said, no public meeting could be held in Gujarat. Qazi Hussain Ahmed and other leaders were allowed to go any where but, rally was not allowed in any part of the province and steps were taken in this regard. Their rallies have failed. People did not give response on their call, he added.
