WASA to raise water charges by 30%

RAWALPINDI—Giving another gift to the poverty stricken people of the city Water and Sanitation Agency has decided to raise the water bill charges by 30 percent and the implementation on this plan will come into effect in December.
The final nod in this regard has also been taken from Raja Javed Ikhlas, District Nazim Rawalpindi. The only people who opposed the proposed plan are the members of Rawal Town and demanded an immediate cessation of the orders.
The WASA decision has been widely condemned by the people of Rawalpindi as they say that WASA has literally failed to provide clean drinking water to the people as mostly the water supplied to the city is contaminated. Whereas on the other hand WASA has amassed a huge group of workers who have failed to do their job in an apt manner and are enjoying all the perks and privileges. Getting furious over the WASA decision, Tariq and Amjad residents of Satellite Town have said that WASA has become a nuisance for the people of the city. They can’t provide us clean drinking water, we have to install water filtration units at our residence at our own expense and on which ground WASA has decided to raise the water bill.—Agencies
