Japanese language speech contest held at NUML

ISLAMABAD—National University of Modern Language (NUML) has become a hub for Japan-Pakistan cultural exchange through the development of language skills, said Ambassador of Japan to Pakistan, Seiji Kojima.
He said Japanese Language Department of NUML has maintained its standard of excellence in imparting Japanese language instruction to students which would be a means for success.
Ambassador Kojima said while addressing a Japanese Language Speech Contest organized by the Japanese Language Department of NUML here Wednesday. He appreciated the teachers and the staff of the Department for their valuable contribution for providing an opportunity to Pakistani citizens to learn Japanese language.
He expressed his happiness over the fact that there are many NUML alumni who can speak Japanese language fluently.
In his address, Rector NUML, Brig (Retd) Aziz Ahmad Khan said students have worked hard to learn Japanese language in a short period. Six students participated in the speech contest and delivered elaborate and well-prepared speeches.
The students and some members of Japanese community also entertained the audience with melodious Japanese songs and Pakistani folk dance.
Zahid Mehmood was awarded first prize while second and third positions were obtained by Capt. Hafiz Shahid Nadeem and Capt. Matee-ur-Rehman respectively.
