NATO Commander calls on Sherpao

ISLAMABAD—The North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO)’s Commander General David Richards Monday called on Interior Minister Aftab Ahmad Khan Sherpao here at his office.
The two sides discussed in details issues relating to cross border terrorism and countering measures. Sherpao reiterated that peace and stability in Afghanistan is in vital interest of the region and Pakistan as well and Islamabad is playing its constructive and progressive role in this regard.
He said Pakistan is actively participating in the reconstruction of Afghanistan and the National Database Registration Authority (NADRA) is currently registering Afgan refugees here for their safe and secure return to their respective country.
The Minister said Islamabad condemns terrorism in all its forms and manifestations and committed to war against terrorism. He said Pakistan under the dynamic leadership of President General Pervez Musharraf and Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz is on the way of progress and development.
Sherpao commended the NATO forces efforts in peace keeping in Afghanistan. Earlier, the NATO Commander briefed the Interior Minister about the NATO’s role in maintaining law and order in Afghanistan.
He appreciated Pakistan’s role in the war against terrorism.
