AIOU ready to provide education in Afghanistan

ISLAMABAD—AIOU is ready to provide the educational facilities in each of the fields in Afghanistan, said Pro. Dr. Mehmood Ul Hassan Butt, Vice Chancellor, Allama Iqbal Open University here on Sunday.
The Afghanistan Govt. will have to decide the subject, level and the number of people for whom they wants the educational plan and we have required only the signal of target and timing schedule, he added. MoU can also be prepared between the concerned department of both counties to provide the education at the level of degree/certificate or diplomas, he said.
He further said that the Afghan Government could also be got the fund from International institutions for this plan. The leader of Afghan delegation, Mr. Khalil ur Rehman, National Field Manager, Special Programme for Food Security in Afghanistan said in his address that stability in the sector of Education and Food could be made in Afghanistan from the last 34 years.
Afghan Government understands that in particular condition of Afghanistan; the achievement of target point in Education Section would be proved useful and effective only by adopting the distance and non-formal education system, it I, so the Govt of Afghanistan wants the collaboration of the Allama Iqbal Open University. Joint Secretary, Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture, Govt of Pakistan, Mr Masaud Ahmed Rana also accompanied with the delegation.
Director Students Affairs, AIOU, Mrs. Shagufta Haroon and Lecturer, Agriculture Department, Mr. Farhat Ullah Khan brief the delegation. The delegation also witnessed the introductory film on AIOU.—Online
