Chinese entrepreneurs visit Engineering Development Board

ISLAMABAD—A seven-member Chinese entrepreneurs delegation headed by Chief of Chinese Technology Incubation Center visited Engineering Development Board (EDB) here on Friday.
They are currently visiting Pakistan with the Chinese President. The delegates were briefed about the working of the Board and provided an opportunity to meet local engineering companies exclusively. Basic information about the companies and their products were exchanged and the Pakistani executives pointed out the lack of information on Hi-tech Chinese companies and expressed desire to have joint ventures in various fields.
They especially identified the sectors including server motors, gas appliance, compressors, auto engine and solar power manufacturing system in which collaboration can be made with Chinese companies.
The Chinese entrepreneurs mostly representing Hi-tech sector showed interest in increasing trade between the two countries and some of them invited Pakistani industrialists to visit China in order to further explore the possibilities of collaborations.
The EDB offered to serve as the focal point for match making between the Chinese and Pakistani companies. The visitors were assured that the Board will offer its services as one-window operation and complete all formalities for the Chinese investment in Pakistan in the engineering sector.
A paper was also distributed giving proposals for Chinese investment in light industry. It contains proposals in automotive parts, components manufacturing industry, electric appliances, bicycle parts, parts of CNC, machine tools and miscellaneous products.
