MP recover
two snatched vehicles

ISLAMABAD—National Highways & Motorway Police has recovered two vehicles
and one motorcycle snatched on gunpoint and arrested the culprit.
As per details, the Motorway Police received an information that a
Suzuki Mehran car No. FDQ-7788 has been stolen and Motorway Police may
help in its recovery. On receiving this information, all the patrolling
vehicles of Motorway Police were got alerted. After some time, the
officers of NH&MP saw the said car near Faisal Shaheed Toll Plaza and
signaled to stop but the driver of the car did not stop and speed away.
However, Police officers stopped the car by blocking the Toll Plaza and
arrested the driver named, Manzar Rahim s/o Abdul Rahim r/o Malakand
Agency, Swat. On initial interrogation, the culprit admitted that he
along with his two companions had booked the car. While on their way,
his companion controlled the driver of this car near Sangjani on
gunpoint and I drove the car towards Peshawar. The Motorway Police
called the Local Police, which is in search of the absconders.
In another episode, Motorway Police got an information from Noshera
Police that a Toyota Hiace No. K-5026 has been stolen and Motorway
Police may help in recovery of the said vehicle. After sometime, the
officers of NH&MP observed the said vehicle going towards Peshawar on
G.T Road and signaled to stop but the driver instead of stopping speed
away. The officers of NH&MP informed the next patrolling car to stop the
Toyota Hiace. When the officers tried to stop the vehicle, the dacoits
opened fire on the Motorway Police officers. The officers also opened
fire in response. Meanwhile, the emergency squad of Motorway Police also
reached. However, the dacoits fled away taking the advantage of the
darkness of night and firing leaving the vehicle there. The Motorway
Police officers took the vehicle into their custody and on its search
also found a motorcycle No. RIY-50. Local Police was informed, which is
in search of the absconders.
Later on, the arrested dacoit alongwith the recovered vehicles and
motorcycle were handed over to Local Police in presence of their owners
for further legal action and investigation. The Inspector General of
NH&MP Mr. Ahmed Nasim has appreciated the performance of the officers,
who took part in these episodes. |
