7 Indian farmers commit suicide

ISLAMABAD—Seven debt-ridden Indian farmers have committed suicide in parts of Vidarbha region since Wednesday, the Times of India reported quoting an NGO working for farmers. The report gave names of the farmers who killed themsleves in a spate of such suicides. With the latest fatalitis, the number of suicides committed by farmers this month has risen to 71. The total number of suicides since June is 508, the NGO said.—Agencies
