KSE 2% up as bulls dominate

KARACHI—The local capital market, Thursday finished 2.07 % up, bringing Rs 57.138 billion to the market capital at Rs 3014.962 billion. Equities starting the day upbeat continued to move steadily and traded 490.554 million shares worth Rs 42.211 billion, bringing gains to scrips of 206 companies, losses to 86 whereas 36 managed to close at their opening rates in 143,351 trades.
KSE-100 index finished the day 220.85 points up to 10867.11 and traded 209.176 million shares worth Rs 25.569 billion, KSE-30 Index jumped 239.11 points up to 13541.36, trading 185.442 million shares worth Rs 23.983 billion and KSE All Shares Index gained 138.74 points to 7271.88 and traded 246.112 million shares worth Rs 26.307 billion. Among the highly volatile scrips, Sanofi-Aventis made Rs 12.45 at 262.45 and Attock Petroleum pocketed Rs 12.20 at 345 as major gainers whereas Dawood Hercules and Sapphire Fiber emerged as top losers, shedding Rs 6 at 290 and Rs 4 at 95 respectively.
