Senate mourns GIK

ISLAMABAD—The Senate session was adjourned till today (Wednesday) morning to mourn over the death of former President and former Chairman Senate Ghulam Ishaq Khan Tuesday evening.
A resolution was unanimously passed by the Senate lauding the services for the cause of democracy and strengthening democratic institutions in the country. Fateha was offered for the former senate chairman in the House.
Dr Sher Afghan Khan Niazi Federal Minister for Parliamentary Affairs and Professor Khurshid of Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal said that Ghulam Ishaq was a principled politician and in the capacity of President and Chairman Senate played his duty responsibly. His services will forever remembered. The senate meeting was later adjourned till today without any further proceedings.
