Govt in contact with MMA, says Shujaat

ISLAMABAD—PML President Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain has said that government is in contact with Opposition leaders including MMA President Qazi Hussain Ahmed and Maulana Fazlur Rehman.
“We don’t want MMA to resign from the National Assembly. It is easy to say but quite difficult in practical”, Chaudhry Shujaat said while talking to journalists in Parliament House on Wednesday. He said that government is keeping an open mind regarding MMAs threats of resignation due to which we are in contact with Qazi Hussain Ahmed as well as Maulana Fazlur Rehman.
However he refused to confirm or reject his meeting with Qazi Hussain Ahmed and gave no comment. Shujaat said that Women Protection Bill will help reduce the miseries of women folk as it meant for the protection of the women. It will also help in abolishing outdated and inhuman traditions against women adding that all discriminatory laws against women would be ended.—SANA
