WPB to be implemented in entire country: Durrani

ISLAMABAD—Terming the impediments in the implementation of Women Protection Bill in the country as violation of the constitution, Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Muhammad Ali Durrani has said that the bill would be enforced in all parts of the country.
Addressing a press conference here Wednesday with Minister of state for Information and Broadcasting, Tariq Azim at the Parliament House cafeteria, the Federal Minister said that the legislation which was made by the National Assembly would be implemented in the entire country and the courts would take action against those involved in the violation of law.
Commenting on the resignations threats of Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal (MMA), Information Minister said that MMA is divided in two groups over resignation issue. He said that one groups is not interested in tendering resignations while the other group wants to use their resignations to get political gains and interested in starting a movement against government in which they failed a number of time in past, added by minister. Giving his views about support rendered by Pakistan Peoples Party Parliamentarian (PPP-P) on WPB, the Minister said that everyone know that whoever opposed the bill would loss support of 50 per cent segment of the society.
Expressing his views about Hasba Bill passed in the NWFP Assembly, Durrani termed it unconstitutional and said that the government did not take any action, however we contacted the Supreme Court but not engaged in any undemocratic practice.
Durrani said that the government is believed on democracy and ready to talk with anyone including MMA on the current political situation. He said that there are no differences among the ranks of Pakistan Muslim League. The Federal Minister said that the standing committees are functioning independently and the government value their opinion and action would be taken against anyone involved in any irregularities.
