Ruckus at Indian school during Jolie film shoot
Showbiz Desk

MUMBAI—Angelina Jolie’s bodyguards shoved children and their parents at an Islamic school in Mumbai on Thursday during the shooting of the Hollywood star’s latest film, witnesses said. Police said they had received a complaint.
Jolie has been in India for almost a month, filming on teeming streets and crowded trains for “A Mighty Heart” which is based on the kidnap and murder of American journalist Daniel Pearl in Pakistan in 2002.
Jolie, who is accompanied by her partner Brad Pitt and their children, has generated a media frenzy and the film’s sets often attract huge crowds, prompting bodyguards to step in.
She was shooting at an Islamic seminary or “madrassa” in Mumbai on Thursday when parents of the children at the school said they were pushed and insulted by her guards.
“Some people have made a complaint but I still don’t know if they are the parents of the students,” Brajesh Singh, Mumbai’s deputy commissioner of police, told newsmen. “Appropriate action will be taken.”
Angry parents told reporters they were threatened by the bodyguards when they tried to get into the school to collect their children.
“The guards of the stars threatened the parents that they should not come in,” one angry father told reporters.
“He pushed a small student and abused us as ‘bloody Indians’,” another father said, pointing to one of Jolie’s bodyguards.
The film crew said there had been some confusion at the school because the paparazzi had tried to get inside.
“We had the full permission and cooperation of the school to film on the premises,” a statement said.
