Hanif Abassi, Dr Farida quit NA

ISLAMABAD—Resignations from members of Mutahida Majlis-e-Amal (MMA) are flowing after the approval of Women Protection Bill from the National Assembly.
Hanif Abassi member NA from Rawalpindi has announced to resign from the assembly and given his resignation to President MMA, Qazi Hussain Ahmed. Talking to Online on Friday, Hanif Abassi said that he would deliver his last speech in the next session of the assembly and after that would resign from the NA. Hanif Abassi said that he gave his resignation without any pressure, adding that his resignation would motivate other members as the bill is unislamic which is creating unrest among people. Meanwhile MMA Deputy Secretary General Hafiz Hussain Ahmed has said that MMA has no choice but to quit the National Assembly and the final decision would come forward by 6 and 7 December. Muttahida Majlis-e-Ammal (MMA) member National Assembly, Dr. Farida Ahmed Siddiqui resigned from the assembly in protest against the passage of the controversial Women Protection Bill (WPB) from lower house of the parliament.
