It was tough to emote in English film: Mahima

BOMBAY—Mahima Chaudhary has been maintaining a low-profile since her last feature film Film Star. When asked about it, the actress replies, “I have been busy shooting abroad and am looking forward to my first Hollywood debut Hope And A Little Sugar directed by Tanuja Chandra. Mahima says, “The film is about the tragedy that people faced after the 9/11 incident. It revolves around a Hindu girl, Saloni who is in love with a Muslim boy. They live in the hope that their loved ones will return some day. I play a very strong girl who owns a sweetshop named Hope and Sugar.” The Pardes girl also explains that the film has interesting twists.
Mahima says that this is the first time that she is working in a Hollywood venture. I have been used to emoting in Hindi, so doing a film in English was a tough. I used to get confused at times while emoting in English.
The film has been shot entirely in the US. “When the 9/11 episode took place, it was hot summer, and by the time our shooting progressed, it was December. You can imagine our plight as we had to wear light summer clothes and shoot in the cold. The film was a sync sound film and we were shivering,” explains the actress. So what is next in line for her? “I have Kudiyon Ka Hai Zamaana with Rekha. Wait and watch, the film is going to rock,” says the actress who is excited about the coming year.—Agencies
