Bajaur Fateha leaves House in commotion

ISLAMABAD—MMA held Fateha Khwani on its own in national assembly for the victims of airstrike in Bajaur agency after the NA speaker Chaudhry Amir Hussain did not allow them to offer Fateha.
This led to create a tense situation in the house and the speaker had to adjourn the house for fifteen minutes. This triggered protest among the MMA and PML-N legislators and all of them assembled in front of speaker’s dais. The PPP-P did not participate in the protest.
The MMA legislators carried banners inscribed with the slogans on condemnation of attack on seminary in Bajaur agency. Liaqat Baloch of MMA led the slogans chanting law makers. The house echoed with the slogans “ Give another push to culprits of Bajaur agency air strike victims, Whosoever is friend of US is traitor. The treasury benches and ministers remained seated to witness this MMA led protest.
Speaker called opposition members in chamber but they did not go there and kept on chanting slogans. PPP-P legislators did not take part in the protest but they moved to lobby and sat over there. MMA legislators had worn black bands around their arms. They kept on raising slogans for a long time. PPP-P joined the protest after holding consultation process in lawn.
Chaudhry Ameer Hussain, Speaker National Assembly allowed memorial reference for late member Abdul Sattar Afghani Monday evening after protest from the religio-political alliance MMA. Ameer Hussain Makhfi, Naveed Qamar, Laeeq Khan, Fauzia Wahab, Fareed Paracha, Hafiz Hussain Ahmed and Ayesha Munawar paying rich tributes to Abdul Sattar Afghani for having an unquestioned character maintained that the late member never did corruption in his capacity as Mayor.
He continued his protest against military dictatorship. During his tenure as Mayor law and order situation never deteriorated. Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Dr Sher Afghan said Abdul Sattar Afghani was the ‘décor’ of the House. He was an experienced politician. Hafiz Hussain said that the late leader never crossed floor. Hafiz Hussain led Fateha at which the Speaker got the MNA’s mic turned off. Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal protested at this.
Hakim Qari Gul Rehman too led Fateha for those killed in the Bajaur operation and for late Abdul Sattar Afghani. The religio-political alliance’s members wore black armbands to protest against the Bajaur and Dargai incidents at the assembly session. The opposition members were also carrying small placards in the House carrying slogans in favor of those killed in the Dargai catastrophe.
