SOUTH WAZIRISTAN—The Political administration of South Wazirstan has cracked down on five sub clans of Wazir Ahmad Zai tribe and three sub clans of the Mahsood tribe.
Dozens of business resources of these clans have also been sealed off, and many tribesmen have been imprisoned, in connection with rocket attacks on the Jirga meeting convened by Governor NWFP, and damaging electric towers in the region.
The assistant political agent of the administration has also started a series of operations to crack down on the tribals of Kani Guram in connection with their blockade of the Laddah Road completion protest, while another crackdown on the sub clan of the Barki Tribe is also on the anvil. The clan of Ahmad Zai has been held responsible for rocket attacks on the recently held Jirga meeting convened by NWFP Governor Ali Muhammad Jan Orakzai, and an action in connection with this had been evoked in accordance with section FCR 40 of the tribal rules, pressurizing the clan to hand over the responsible culprits to the administration, whose names are being held in secrecy.—Online
