Amrita Rao gets marriage proposals

BOMBAY—After enacting the role of a demure Hindu girl in Sooraj Barjatya’s Vivaah, Amrita Rao is quite excited about her next role, that of a modern Catholic girl in E. Niwas’ My Name is Anthony Gonsalves. “The role is in total contrast to my character in Vivaah. I play a very confident Catholic girl who is very serious about her work. She is very enthusiastic about everything in life. She shares a great rapport with Anthony every time she meets him,” says Amrita.
She adds, “We will start shooting in December in Goa. I am very keen to work with E. Niwas. I’ve seen his Love Ke Liye Kuch Bhi Karega. He is very clear in his thinking and knows exactly what he wants. He has certain convictions and attitudes which I look for in a director. He has the vision and gives the format of how he wants us to play our roles. I am lucky to work with such directors. I had a great experience with Soorajji. He was very encouraging. During the shoot of Vivaah he used to send us SMSs after good shots.” As for Amrita’s “vivaah”, astrologers have predicted that she will get married in the near future. Amrita laughs and says, “My aunt who is in the US is keen to get me married and gets me a lot of proposals.”—Agencies
