Neurosurgery department to be established at PIMS: DG Health
ISLAMABAD—Director General Health Major Shahida Malik has said that
first Gamma Knife Neuro-surgery department would be constructed in
Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) soon.
She stated this while addressing 19th National Neurosurgery Conference
organized by Pakistan Society of Neurosurgeons here in Islamabad Club
the other day. Federal Health Secretary Anwar Mehmood is very keen in
establishment of Gamma Knife Neurosurgery department in PIMS, DG health
added. DG Health further said that Federal Government has increased the
budget of PIMS by Rs. 2 billion in current year to meet the requirements
of hospital adding that the infrastructure of hospitals are being made
better. President and Chief Organizer of Pakistan Society of
Neurosurgeons Prof. Dr. Khaliq-u-Zaman, Prof. Syed Bajwa, Joint
Secretary Mohsin Shah and other doctors belonging to India, United
Kingdom, America and others countries were present during the
