Iranian Culture Centre pays tributes to Allama Iqbal

RAWALPINDI—Iranian Culture Centre held a function in connection with birth anniversary of Allama Iqbal, poet-philosopher of the East here on Sunday.
Iranian Ambassador, Ma’ Shallah Shakri who was the chief guest on the occasion said Allama Iqbal, a poet, writer, thinker had written his works in different languages and that his persian poetry was very popular with the Iranian people.
He said that his work embodied rich culture of all the Muslims and reading his literature help strengthen relations between Muslims, no matter where they were living.
He said his thought-provoking poetry was a beacon for the worldwide Muslims and his thoughts should be promoted for preservation of unity among the Muslim Ummah.
He said that Allama Iqbal was a great exponent of philosophy of “Ijtihad”, infusing strength into Muslims who always supported peace, love and harmony.
He said Iqbal’s poetry infused the spirit into Muslim to love their motherland and work for their prosperity and development and added Allama Iqbal set a direction for the establishment of separate Muslim country in the sub-continent by giving them clear vision in his historic speech in Allahabad address in 1930.
