NA adjourned without business

ISLAMABAD—The National Assembly was adjourned without any session, due to death of MMA, MNA, Abdul Sattar Afghani, on Friday evening.
The MMA protested violently for not allowing the condolence prayers for those killed in the Bajour operation, while condolence prayers for the former President Ghulam Ishaq Khan were offered. When the 38th session of the assembly started, after the recitation of the holy Quran, The Speaker announced the names for panel of chairmen for the session, while Federal Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Dr. Sher Afgan Niazi stated that all the prominent dead should be condoled, upon which the Speaker reminded him that condolence prayers are only offered for any serving member, and no point of objection would be entertained. However the Speaker took Suo motto action and allowed condolence prayers for, former President Ghulam Ishaq Khan, Abdul Sattar Afghani and former MNA Darya Khan Khoosa. After the condolence prayers the session was adjourned until Monday evening at 1700 hrs.
