Iqbal’s thoughts be promoted for nation’s upgradation

ISLAMABAD—Speakers at a seminar on Saturday stressed Iqbal’s thoughts to
be promoted for nation’s spiritual upgradation and preservation of
unity.
The function was held under auspices of Federal Directorate of Education
in connection with birth anniversary of Allama Iqbal, a poet-
philosopher of subcontinent at Islamabad Model College for Girls F-6/2,
here.
Minister of State for Education Anisa Zeb Tahirkheli paying glowing
tribute to Allama Iqbal said that his thought-provoking poetry was a
beacon of light for the nation and his teachings should be promoted for
nation’s elevation to steer the country towards heights of development
and prosperity.
Advocating such literary programmes to be sustained and strengthened,
the minister said these functions served effectively to apprise the
nation, especially the young of the true vision of their ancestors for
their prosperity.
She said that Allama Iqbal’s poetry was universal, covering every aspect
of life and that his teachings was source of inspiration for worldwide
muslim as to how play part as a role model for other nations.
Speaking on the occasion, Director General Federal Directorate of
Education Brig (rtd) Maqsud-ul-Hasan said that (Iqbal) poetry infused
the spirit into muslim to love their motherland and work for their
prosperity and development.
He said that the Directorate would work out a comprehensive plan to
promote thoughts of Allama Iqbal among the students, by holding
functions and programmes in educational institutions.
Professor Fateh Muhammad Malik said Allama Iqbal set a direction for the
establishment of separate Muslim country in the sub-continent by giving
them clear vision in his historic speech in Allahabad address in 1930.
Speaking on the occasion, Principal of the college Rehana Rashid
highlighted the role of her institution in imparting quality education
to achieve the goals envisioned by Allama Iqbal for bright future of the
muslim.
She said that his work embodied rich culture of the whole muslims and
reading his literature help strengthen relations between Muslims, no
matter where they were living.
Besides recitation of his poetry, the Students, at stage, acted out the
message of Allama Iqbal in his work” Iblis-ki-Majlis-e-Shura” for the
muslim as how to achieve success here and hereafter and to take role as
model for the rest of the world. |
