4 killed in Shakai mine explosion

SHAKAI—Four persons were killed while several others injured in the land mine explosion here in Shakai region of South Waziristan on Friday.
According to a private channel pro-government tribal chief and jirga member Malik Khajan along with his companions was on his to home from Shakai when a land mine exploded killing the tribal chief and three other persons at the spot while several others sustained severe injuries in the explosion. The injured persons have been admitted to army hospital in Shakai. The government officials have also confirmed the death of the pro-government tribal chief in the incident. Unknown miscreants attacked a security forces’ camp with rockets here in Northern Wazirstan, official sources said Friday. The attack, first ever on security forces after peace accord inked between the government and local tribesmen approximately one and half month ago, was carried out at night between Thursday and Friday. At least five rockets were fired on Scouts’ Camp here from South-Eastern side which landed in adjacent, going overhead the camp, causing no property and life loss, they said.—Agencies
