Czech MND keen to invest in gas storages, JV exploration

ISLAMABAD—Chairman of Czech Republic MND (Moravske Naliov Doly) Exploration and Production Company Mr. Karcl Komarek alongwith members of his delegation called on the Federal Minister for Petroleum & Natural Resources Mr. Amanullah Khan Jadoon here today and expressed his company’s keenness to invest in the construction of gas storages, joint venture explorations and privatization activities.
The Chairman of MND told the Minister that his company had been operating in Pakistan for the last decade and presently working with Mari Gas, PPL and OMV companies. Mr. Komarck informed that they were looking forward to work with E&P companies operating in Pakistan as a joint venture in exploration and privatization activities.
Welcoming the delegation the Minister said that Pakistan has a vast onshore and offshore area of 827,000 kms out of which only 25% was under exploration. He said that the government was offering lucrative incentives to the prospective investors in onshore and offshore explorations, which attracted a huge direct and indirect investment in last few years in the country. Mr. Jadoon said that the government would welcome and facilitate the Czeck MND’s investment in gas storages, exploration and privatization activities for the mutual advantage.
Minister of State for Petroleum Mir Muhammad Naseer Mengal, Additional Secretary Mr. Shaukat Hayat Durrani, General Manager MND in Pakistan Mr. Alamgir Khan and senior officials of the Ministry were also present during the meeting.
