CM to inaugurate journalist colony on 19th

RAWALPINDI—Chief Minister Punjab Chaudhry Pervez Elahi will formally inaugurate journalist colony on November 19 here and the concerned departments have finalized all arrangements on this count.
A meeting was held here Wednesday under District Coordination Officer (DCO) Irfan Elahi. President Rawalpindi Press Club, Mushtaq Minhas, D.O (Revenue), Asif Qureshi, director housing Aslam Khan Niazi, director public relations, Atta Muhammad Baloch and officers of forest department attended the meeting. DCO Irfan Elahi told the meeting that possession of 200 acre land allocated for journalist colony has been handed over to housing department.
He directed officers of forest department to appoint regular staff for the supervision and protection of trees in the journalist colony. DCO told that a briefing will be given to the chief minister Punjab about these arrangements in a high level meeting. Information secretary, housing and physical planning secretary and forest secretary will participate in this meeting.
Director housing told the meeting that funds have been allocated and orders issued for preparation of foundation stone as per standard design. DCO has issued directives to the concerned departments to coordinate with each other in connection with preparations of the inaugural ceremony and he be kept informed about any progress in this regard. The DCO has also directed the heads of departments of housing, revenue, forest and public relations to visit the site after the meeting and discharge their respective responsibilities.
Joint secretary press club, Naveed Akram, deputy director Zia ud Din Satti, director forest Rawalpindi, Jamil Ahmad, assistant director Town planning, Nasir Mehmood, Naib Tehsildar Rawalpindi, Naseer Ahmad Olak, sub engineer Fida Hussain Shah and patwari Usman Zaheer also attended the meeting.
