Hungarian FM calls for exchange of parliamentary delegations

ISLAMABAD—Deputy Speaker, National Assembly Wednesday said that Pakistan values high its relations with Hungry underlining both the countries have same views on global issues .
He expressed these views while talking to Hungarian Foreign Minister Dr Kinga Gonez who called in the Parliament on Wednesday. The Deputy Speaker briefed the Hungarian FM about the Parliamentary System in Pakistan, its Constitution, Rules of Procedures of Legislation and role of Standing Committees in NA.
He said that local bodies have empowered people at the grass root level and ensured their participation in the government developmental activities.
The Deputy Speaker said that Pakistan wanted durable peace in the region and resolution of all international disputes through dialogues. The Deputy Speaker said that peace in Afghanistan was in the interest of Pakistan and region.
He also apprised the Minister that Pakistan was playing an important role in the war against terrorism. He said that curbing terrorism and extremism needed removal of the root causes of terrorism.
The Deputy Speaker thanked the Hungarian FM for their assistance for the victims of October 8, 2005 earthquake in AJK and NWFP.
On the other hand, Hungarian Foreign Minister Dr Kinga Gonez said that Pakistan and Hungry enjoys good friendship and there existed cooperation between the two countries in economic sectors.
He lauded the economic policies and the pace of economic development in Pakistan.
He underlined the need for greater and frequent exchange of parliamentary delegations for enhanced cooperation and experience sharing.
