Islamabad Traffic Police functioning impresses Chinese Police officials

ISLAMABAD—While the Islamabad Traffic Ploice has won hearts of millions of Pakistanis, living and visiting Islamabad, it has also inspired a number of foreign Police establishments, becoming another identity of President Musharraf’s good governance policies and Premier Shaukat Aziz’s vision of smooth functioning of government department. A reflection of this aspect appeared when a high level Chinese police and defence delegation visited the Headquarters of Islamabad Traffic Police here on Tuesday, hailing tremendously the functioning and extraordinary professional standards that the department is maintaining successfully since its inception in January this year, under the able leadership of Inspector General of Islamabad Police Chaudhary Iftekhar and his operational commanders. A 27 member delegation of Chinese Police, currently in Pakistan visited the Traffic Police Headquarters where they were received by Senior Superintendent Police (SSP) Traffic Azam Temuri, SP Traffic
Halina Iqbal Saeed, and other senior officers while national anthems of both countries were played on the occasion.
SSP Traffic Azam Temuri, in high profile and comprehensive briefing, briefed the delegation about the establishment of traffic police, its performance and its working methodologies as well as the future plans..
SSP Traffic apprised the delegation that various awareness and education programmes had been started to improve the traffic system of Capital city.
The guests expressed jubilation over the performance of Traffic police and declared the traffic system of Federal capital as exemplary. They hailed the standards of professionalism and the traffic management strategies, adopted by the traffic police. They observed that Islamabad Traffic Police could be a role model of all the traffic management authorities of all the major cities across the world. They said that China would also like to be benefited by the strategies of managing traffic loads on the roads that have been applied very successfully by Islamabad Traffic Police. .
