No officer involved in rocket plot: PAF

ISLAMABAD—Pakistan Air Force (PAF) Monday denied the reports that said some of its officers, who had access to President Pervez Musharraf’s innermost security circle, were among 50 people arrested for trying to assassinate him soon after he returned from a visit to the US and Britain in late September.
Spokesman of PAF Air Commodore Sarfraz Ahmed Khan talking to a private TV channel here said neither any PAF officer was involved in life attempt on President Musharraf nor was held on suspicion.
He said the news published in an UK-based journal was based on false information which was not only contrary to ethics but inconsistent with principles of journalism.
“It is immoral and unethical to publish news without confirmation from the concerning department”, Khan said.
Khan condemned the news and said PAF was organized and disciplined chapter of Pakistan Armed Forces and such act was simply impossible.—Agencies
