Railways to run 20 special trains on the eve of Tableeghi Ijtema in Raiwind: Rashid

ISLAMABAD—Minister for railways, Sheikh Rashid Ahmad has said Pakistan railways has decided to operate 20 special trains on the occasion of annual Tableeghi Ijtema at Raiwind adding directives have been issued for all the trains to stop at railway station Raiwind during November 8 to 13.
He said this in his exclusive talks with Online Monday. Sheikh Rashid told he would undertake visit of Raiwind today to review the arrangements for arrival and departure of the trains.
This decision has been taken to facilitate the passengers from across the country to travel to Raiwind to attend Ijtema. Railways administration has been directed to provide all facilities to the participants of the Ijtema.
Replying to a question on peace talks between Pakistan and India Sheikh Rashid said he had made it clear on India that first of all passenger trains would be run and later the matter of operating freight trains will be considered.
He informed that the talks between the two countries are in progress to run passenger trains. India wants to initiate freight train service first of all and on the other hand we want passenger trains are run prior to freight trains so that the people of both the countries could benefit from the train service.
