LAHORE—An election tribunal of the Lahore High Court Friday de-seated MNA,Saima Akhtar Bharwana from the national assembly seat on an election petition seeking her disqualification and also ordered a fresh election against the seat.
The court held that the Returning Officer had notscrutinised the rejected votes and had declared the respondent successful.
Sahibzada Nazir Sultan, a defeated candidate had moved the petition in which he had submitted that election results were changed and his 2910 votes were rejected which were not examined by the RO and Ms Bharwana had been declared successful for national assembly seat from NA-90 Jhang-V.
Meanwhile, the court held that the respondent can participate in the fresh elections.
