I am happy to be single: Koena Mitra

BOMBAY—Ever since actress Koena Mitra split with her boyfriend Rajiv Singh, she prefers to stay single. Being upset with his attitude of not wanting her to continue in films compelled her to call off the relationship. Terming it as selfish behaviour, Koena said that it was completely unfair on his partto ask her to give up something which she had worked for so hard “In fact, he should have encouraged me and helped me in achieving my goals. I thought it was best that I give up the relationship. I guess it worked for him too,” she said.
Currently, Koena is looking forward to the release of Sangeet Sivan’s Apna Sapna Money Money. Talking about her role in the film, she says, “Contrary to my image in the film industry, for the first time you will see me in traditional Indian costumes. I play character whose values are intact but she is a spoilt brat.”
Ask her if she is a spoilt brat in real life and Koena quips, “No, I am not! In fact, I always had my head firmly placed on my shoulders. If I had to be a brat, I don’t think I would have been able to be so self-independent and survive in Mumbai all alone.”
Calling her ASMM co-star Riteish Deshmukh as mosthassle-free, the Saki Saki girl said that watching him dressed as a woman made her feel that she had a competition, and that he was looking very pretty.—Agencies
