Security guard kills five including businessman

LAHORE—Five persons including the son of Seth Abid, a renowned businessman were killed while six passers-by sustained injuries when a security guard opened fire at them at Airlines Society, Sattu Katla area on Thursday.
Police said, six security guards including a supervisorof Time Security Management private (Ltd) came to the society and after conducting a survey of the society they went to their office situated in the society.
Meanwhile, Hafiz Seth Ayaz son of Seth Abid arrived in the society for some work. As he alighted from his car, a security guard Rizwan of Arifwala opened indiscriminate fire. As a result Seth Ayaz, Muhammad Yaqoob, Naseer Ahmad, Zahoor Ahmad and another security guard died on the spot.
Later, the accused while fleeing towards the road again opened fire and snatched a car and drove it away. Seven passers-by including two girls fell victim to firing and sustained injuries and were rushed to the Jinnah Hospital for treatment where Tahir Fazal (32) resident of Krishan Nagar succumbed to his injuries. The injured have been identified as Muhammad Ikram,Israrul Haq, Shan (20), Muhammad Shafi and his two daughters Siddiqa (7) and Mahnoor (9).—Agencies
