Islamabad asks Kabul to extradite Bugti’s grandson

KABUL/ QUETTA—Pakistan intelligence agencies have located Brahmdakh Bugti , grandson of Baloch nationalist leader Nawab Akbar Bugti at Kabul and demanded of Afghan government to hand him over to Pakistani authorities.
Well placed sources told Online Thursday that Pakistan intelligence agencies had got lead that Brahmdakh Bugti, grandson and heir to Nawab Akbar Bugti had left for Kandahar. The agencies traced out his hide out there. However, he shifted to Kabul. The intelligence agencies located him therein.
Pakistan intelligence agencies have demanded of Afghan Intelligence Agencies to hand over Brahmdakh to Pakistan as he was involved in several acts of murder and terrorism.
Sources informed that talks are underway about his delivery to Pakistan. Both the governments have started talks on this count. No extradition treaty exists between Pakistan and Afghanistan. Bilateral legal aid accord is in place between both countries under which they assist each other.
Sources revealed Afghan government would soon hand over Brahmdakh Bugti as government of Pakistan had provided all evidence on his involvement in murder cases and terror acts.
President General Pervez Musharraf has summoned a Jirga of Baloch tribal chiefs to meet here on November 18 to discuss prevailing situations in Balochistan and curb terrorism. According to official sources, chiefs of all Baloch tribes will participate in the Jirga meeting under chairmanship of President Pervez Musharraf but Sardar Ata Ullah Mengal, Kher Bux Murree and Nawab Akbar’s son have not been invited to attend the meeting.
The President will discuss situations created in Balochistan after death of Nawab Akbar Bugti, maintaining law and order situations and crushing terrorism in the province. Various options of initiating development projects in Balochistan for progress of the province will also be focused during the meeting.—Online
