Blast kills 3 in Quetta

QUETTA—At least three persons including two policemen were killed while score of other sustained injuries on Thursday when a suicide car bomber blew him up in front of IGP Balochistan Office, witnesses said.
However, police said the bomb was planted in the car, which went off, when police stopped it at a check post near the office of IGP Chaudary Muhammad Yaqoob at Gulistan Road in Cantonment area. The explosion also damaged nearby parked vehicles and smashed windowpanes of buildings.
Some other source suspected that it was suicide attack as the car which wad moving blown up by remote control when it reached in front of the IG office. Police contingent and bomb disposal squad medially rushed to the spot and inspected the site and condoned off the roads leading to the site. The incident occurred in highly sensitive area where important public buildings and a girls’ college is situated. Interior Minister Aftab Ahmad Khan Sherpao has strongly condemned terrorist attack in Quetta that resulted in the loss of lives of two policemen and caused injuries to civilians.
