President to meet Balochistan Grand Jirga
QUETTA—Grand Jirga consisting of Balochistan Baloch and Pushtoon Sardars
and tribal elders would be held in the federal capital on November 8
which would be chaired by President Musharraf.
According to reliable sources, the aim of holding the grand jirga is to
review the political and tribal situation in Balochistan and to take the
Baloch and Pushtoon Sardars, tribal elders into confidence so that their
opinion could be included in the development process of Balochistan
province.
Contacts have been started at the government level with Baloch and
Pashtoon sardars and tribal elders for materializing the holding of the
grand jirga.
However Nawab Khair Baksh Mari, Sardar Atta ullah Mangal and sons of
Nawab Akbar Bugti have not been invited. Governor Balochistan Owais
Ghani and Chief Minister Jam Yousaf would also be present on the
occasion. Sources told that efforts would be made for a Waziristan like
peace agreement for elimination of miscreants from the
