LDDB signs MoU with GGK

ISLAMABAD—Livestock and Dairy Development Board (LDDB) signed a memorandum of understanding with Grazing Grounds Karachi (GGK) to provide technical assistance to the private sector firm to establish a large sheep and goat farm for meat production on main Karachi-Hyderabad Super Highway in Thana Bula Khan, District Jamshoro.
The private sector firm will also be establishing a state-of-the-artslaughter house along with the cold storage facilities to provide hygienic good quality meat to the local measures as well as for export purposes. The livestock farm will be established on more than 1000 acre land withboth breeding and fattening facilities for the animals.
Total investment of the project will be Rs. 414 million and the projectwill fatten 175,000 million producing 5250 tones of additional meat annually.
LDDB was established as a private sector-led government guaranteedcompany under Section 42 of the Companies Act and is registered with SCEP.
LDDB is mandated to promote and facilitate livestock, meat, dairy andpoultry development in the country.
The company will be executing two livestock development projects worth Rs. 3208 million funded by the federal government for the improvement of milk and meat in the country. These projects would be launched during the current month.
