Jadoon upbeat about major oil discovery in deep sea

ISLAMABAD—Vice President of British Petroleum Ian Vann along with a delegation called on the federal minister for petroleum and Natural Resources Amanullah Khan Jadoon here Tuesday and discussed with him investment potential in oil and gas sector.
During the meeting Ian Vann briefed the minister about the arrangements being made by the British petroleum for undertaking the offshore exploration in Pakistan deep sea water in beginning of next year.
He said that British Petroleum would expand its activities in upstream and downstream oil and gas sector for the promotion of bilateral interests.
Ian Vann also informed about the ongoing oil and gas production from the company's field in the Sindh province.
Welcoming the delegation the Minister appreciated BP's contribution for the promotion of exploration activities in Pakistan and hoped that it would further enhance investment for the mutual benefit. Jadoon said that production sharing incentives provided to greater extent adding that further improvement was being made.
The Minister said that there was a bright prospect of a major oil discovery in Pakistan's deep sea water and wished BP for all success its offshore endeavors.
Secretary petroleum Ahmad Waqar, DG (PC) Naeem Malik, Chief Executive Officer GHPL Khurshid Anwar and Vice president BP in Pakistan Tariq Khamesani were also present on the occasion.
