Japanese envoy calls on Ch Shahbaz

ISLAMABAD—Federal Minister for Population Welfare Chaudhry Shahbaz Hussain on Tuesday highlighted welfare objectives of the population ministry like facilities for reproductive health awareness on child and mother health, education and financial empowerment of women and motivational on male and female levels as well.
He said this during his meeting with Japanese Ambassador Seiji Kojima.
The matters of mutual interest, especially in the perspective ever-increasing population and preventive measures taken by the Ministry were discussed in detail.
Federal Minister briefed the ambassador about the awareness advocacy program initiated by the Ministry at various levels by involving different sections of society.
Meanwhile, Secretary Population Welfare Shahzado Sheikh also briefed the ambassador about the scope and working of the Ministry and its future projects. He further told that population control program of Pakistan was being widely hailed by the donors and developed countries as well.
Japanese Ambassador appreciated on going efforts made by the Ministry to achieve certain fertility and growth rate in Pakistan in a stipulated period.
