PM directs police to maintain law and order

ISLAMABAD—Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz Monday directed the law enforcing agencies to maintain law and order in the country at all costs.
Talking to Federal Minister for Interior Aftab Ahmed Khan Sherpao, who called on him at the PM’s House this morning, he said various initiatives were being launched to further improve law and order situation with particular focus on street crime and traffic related crimes.
The Prime Minister directed the law enforcing agencies to take both curative and preventive steps to provide security and justice to the people.
The meeting also noted with satisfaction the performance of security agencies in solving major cases in the country.
The Prime Minister said this momentum should be maintained to ensure further improvement in this area.
He said that the automated utility bill collection system recently launched by NADRA would facilitate the people in depositing the utility bills and would spare them the agony of standing in long queues.
He asked the Ministry of Interior to spread the network of kiosks of NADRA all over the country.
Federal Minister for Interior also updated Prime Minister on the working of various attached departments of his ministry including NADRA, FIA and the Directorate General of Passports. —Agencies
