IIUI organizes presentation on 'Sultanat of Delhi'

ISLAMABAD—The Faculty of Social Sciences, International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) organized a presentation on 'Theory and Practice of Politics during Sultanate of Delhi'.
Dr. Khurram Qadir, former professor at the department of history, Bahauddin Zikria University, was the resource person while Dr. Zafar Ishaq Aanswari, President IIUI, Dr. Anwar Hussain Siddiqui, VP(AF&P) IIU, Dr. Ijaz Shafi Gilani, Dean Faculty of Management Sciences, a large number of faculty and students of IIUI attended the presentation.
Dr. Qadir presented an overview of the establishment, development and way of governance of the Muslim rulers of Delhi and highlighted some major political and administrative features introduced by Muslim governments of India. He said that Muslim rulers accelerated the process of developments and civilization in India through bringing new concepts and administrative systems with them. He added that Muslims introduced new vocabulary, literary terms and themes, system of government, land reforms, division of powers at various political levels and social reforms in India. He added that the local governments' relations with the Centre were innovative and the impact of such initiatives still continues both in India and Pakistan.
