President confers military award on Chinese Air Force Commander

RAWALPINDI—President General Pervez Musharraf conferred Nishan-i-Imtiaz (Military) award on General Qiao Qingchen, Commander People’s Liberation Army (Air Force) at a special investiture ceremony held here on Monday.
The award has been given to General Qiao Qingchen in recognition to his consistent and valuable contributions for promoting relations and understanding between the Air Force of the two countries. General Qingchen, a reputed military commander and distinguished aviator has remained the guiding force behind meaningful cooperation and enhanced relations between the Pakistan and Chinese Air Forces.
The ceremony was attended by federal ministers, Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee, the Services Chiefs, senior civil and military officers and other distinguished guests.
Earlier, General Qiao Qingchen called on President General Pervez Musharraf and discussed the extremely close and fraternal relations between China and Pakistan. President Musharraf lauded the services of Chinese Commander in giving meaningful and purposeful orientation to these ties.
General Qiao Qingchen thanked the government of Pakistan for conferring on him a prestigious military award and expressed his resolve for further strengthening the excellent relations between the Air Forces of two countries.
